Health

Reciprocal health: A reciprocal health agreement for medical treatment including treatment in state hospitals exists with the United Kingdom. In order to obtain treatment a UK passport will be required. Further details are available from www.dh.gov.uk.

Compulsory vaccinations: A yellow fever vaccination certificate is required from travellers over 9 months of age coming from areas with risk of yellow fever transmission.

Recommended immunisations: Hepatitis A, Diphtheria, Tetanus

Consider: Typhoid, Tuberculosis, Hepatitis B, Rabies, Japanese B Encephalitis, Meningococcal Meningitis and for Asian and Far Eastern regions of Russia Cholera may sometimes be advised.

Risks: Tick Borne Encephalitis (TBE): Ticks live in forests, woods, grasslands, riverside meadows, marshes, brushwood and shrublands. They usually live in the undergrowth, where they can easily get onto the clothes or skin of passers-by. Travellers intending to visit such areas are recommended to get vaccinated.
